A SPECIAL 90 MINUTE CLASS TO CELEBRATE OUR RE-OPENING!
Dear Body Machine Members,
We can’t wait to welcome you back to our small group classes starting Wednesday 19th of May!
To celebrate the re-opening of our classes, Frances will be running a Special 90 Minute Welcome Back SpinAddikts™ + TRX Combo Class @ 6:30 pm on Wednesday 19th of May. To kickstart your fitness routine after Lockdown 3.0, this super exhilarating session consists of 45 minutes of SpinAddikts™ indoor cycling followed by 45 minutes of TRX.
Be prepared to sweat, burn some serious calories, engage your entire body and re-experience the post-workout exuberance from a Body Machine class.
Booking is required as space is limited. For those of you who have class credits, this double session can be booked with your credits. If you have run out of credits, you can purchase top-up credits on site or purchase new credits. You can reserve a space by emailing us.
YOGA CLASSES STARTING SATURDAY 22ND OF MAY
We are very excited to welcome Durga Devi to Body Machine Performance Studio. Durga will teach a 75 minute Jivamukti Yoga class on Wednesdays and Saturdays (10 am - 11:15 am). Her first class will start on Saturday the 22nd of May.
Originally from New York, Durga Devi is a former dancer and competitive gymnast. Asana practice felt very natural to the former gymnast, but it was the chanting, the philosophy and the ancient and holy teachings of yoga that really hit home.
Durga has been a devoted student of the Jivamukti Yoga method, N.Y.C. for over 24 years. She taught at the New York Centre for over 3 years and moved to London in early 2005 to help open the London Jivamukti Yoga Centre. In addition to her Jivamukti teacher training and Jivamukti Yoga Advanced Certification, she completed teacher training at the Laughing Lotus Yoga Centre in New York City. Kirtan training with Jai Uttal inspires her chanting which is a very important component in her teachings.
What is Jivamukti Yoga?
A vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating class, Jivamukti Yoga includes Vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, Pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Sanskrit chanting, Yogic philosophical teachings and deep relaxation. To keep the practice inspiring, asana sequences are ever-changing with music playing an integral role in the class.
Please note that due to the strict Covid policy in place at Body Machine, please bring your own yoga mat. If you don’t have one, please let us know in advance and we will provide a yoga mat for you.
MODERN DANCE MACHINE & BODY BAND with Shaun Christie
We are very excited that Shaun Christie, the former New Zealand National Latin American Champion is teaching two classes at Body Machine, including his signature modern dance class!
Shaun is a passionate sportsman and has been involved in competitive swimming, athletics and dancing his entire life. After competing at a national level in athletics and swimming; and national and international level at Latin American and Ballroom dancing (including competing on Australian television series, Strictly Dancing) he prides himself on correct technique and the benefit of conveying the purpose of each exercise to his clients.
Come join Shaun on Tuesdays 12:30 pm for Body Band from the 25th of May and Thursdays 10 am for Modern Dance Machine starting the 20th of May.
In Body Band, Shaun will lead you through a 60 minute workout that includes cardio drills and the use of bands. This is a whole body sculpting workout so be prepared to sweat and feel the burn!
In Modern Dance Machine, Shaun will lead you through a full spectrum of dance routines including modern, musical theatre and zumba. You will feel invigorated but also, what better way to burn calories and get a great workout!
